If you noticed stories about eagles lately, this time of year eagles are searching for food and frequently get into trouble in the process. A couple days ago I had three calls on eagles. In one well-publicized incident, an eagle took a ride on the front of a train from Stockholm to LaCrosse. In another a semi driver thought he had hit and killed an eagle only to find it clinging to his radiator when he next stopped.
The reason for that is when an eagle clamps onto something it doesn’t let go. Trust me; I’ve felt that grip. For the next month you will likely hear more stories about eagles’ tenacious grasp. It’s that time of year.
Thanks for caring about the critters,
Patti
